Happy Quarter Four!
Reading:
During the month of April in reading students will be exploring traditional tales. They will be learning about the elements of tradition tales and the four types (folktale, myth, legend, and fable). Students will then be reading various types and identifying the traditional tale based on the elements. We will also be working on vocabulary and using our context clues to identify new words. We are very excited to share tales from all over the world with the students!
Math.
In math students will be working with multi-step word problems. With the word problems the students will be identifying the known and unknown in each of the problems along with writing an equation with a variable to represent the unknown. Students will also have to identify the correct operations used in the equations. After we will be reviewing multiplication and division strategies when the approaching a word problem.
We will be finishing off the month with Math PARCC April 29-30 and May 2-3.
